And just like that, summer is over and it's back to work for me. Well, back to work with kiddos... I've been back since the 1st, but Meet the Teacher is on Wednesday and students start on Thursday. I can hardly believe how quickly the summer has gone! I'll be teaching once again at a… Continue reading Back to School 2018

Just a PSA
I started back at work this week. In the span of three days, I had three co-workers ask me about a baby. One wanted to know when I was going to get around to having a baby, another wanted to know why I wasn't pregnant yet, and the other went so far as to say… Continue reading Just a PSA
How We Ended Up in Florida
One year ago this past weekend, I made the stupidest brave decision of my life (so far). With only four days until the school year began, I packed up my CR-V with most of my clothes, school materials, and necessities, and moved 750 miles away to Florida. I knew absolutely no one. I had no… Continue reading How We Ended Up in Florida
Why I’m Here
I started this blog (again) with a lot of encouragement from my husband. Every time I or we went through something or struggled with something, I turned to the internet, looking for some other woman to share her experience and learn from her struggle. Then I'd have a lot of feelings and opinions, and my… Continue reading Why I’m Here

August Isaac {part two}
This is the story of our son, August Isaac. You can find the rest of his story here: part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 Later that week, we scheduled our appointment with the MFM specialist (basically a high-risk OB). I also had blood drawn for genetic screening of Trisomys 13,… Continue reading August Isaac {part two}

Update
At our follow-up, the MFM specialist also noticed some abnormalities in the placenta. I was sent to get blood work done and he called my doctor. They are suspecting a partial molar pregnancy, bringing some serious complications to the table. This requires a D&C, which is scheduled for Thursday, and a year of dedicated monitoring… Continue reading Update
